At 38, Axel had hit a wall.
He was not completely out of shape, but he definitely was not feeling like himself either. He was active, walked regularly, and did not eat terribly. But deep down, he knew he had let things go.
Slowly, almost without noticing, he had put on weight, lost energy, and started feeling uncomfortable in his own skin.
He tried to fix it. Keto. Fasting. No alcohol. He even managed to drop a few kilos with medication at one point. But as soon as he stopped, the weight came back. And emotionally, it left him feeling even more defeated.
Axel was not looking for another hack. He just wanted to feel like himself again.
Axel's biggest struggle was not information. It was overwhelm. Too much advice. Too many voices. Too many false starts:
Axel had the knowledge, the gym membership, and the desire. What he was missing was structure built around his real life, and someone in his corner to keep him accountable.
What changed was not finding the perfect plan. It was finally asking for help.
For the first time, Axel stopped trying to figure it all out on his own and started working with a coach who gave him real structure, without extremes.
He did not give up the foods he loved. He still had pizza on Fridays and wine with friends. But he had clarity. A plan that made sense and was built around his life, not against it.
He learned to train with purpose. To build habits slowly. To track progress in ways that actually mattered. And week by week, things started shifting.
He lost fat. His body got stronger. His face leaned out. His clothes fit better. But more than that, he started trusting himself again.
Looking back, Axel describes the biggest change as finally trusting himself again.
He is not perfect. He still goes out. He still enjoys life. But now he knows how to get back on track without guilt or a full reset.
He feels sharper, more energized, more present. He does not avoid mirrors anymore. And for the first time in years, he feels like he is showing up fully, for himself and for the people he cares about.
"I remember looking in the mirror one day and thinking: this is working. I actually feel proud of what I see."
If you have been stuck in that same loop of starting strong, falling off, and feeling frustrated, Axel's story is proof that progress is possible. No matter how long you have been avoiding it.
